First West Nile fever case in the EU in 2013

According to the ECDC, the first human case of West Nile fever in the EU has been reported mid-July in Greece, in the eastern part of the region of Attiki. This region had the highest number of cases in Greece in 2012 (45 out of 161). Greece was one of six EU countries that reported cases of West Nile fever in 2012; the other countries were Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, and Romania.
